General objective:
The training program aims to enable participants to apply legal and ethical principles in nursing practice, demonstrate professional accountability, and recognize the legal and ethical challenges associated with contemporary healthcare practices.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training course, the nursing students will be able to:
Cognitive:
1. Identify patients' rights & responsibilities.
2. Explain legal aspect in nursing practice.
3. Describe rights& legal responsibilities of nurse.
4. Discuss the advocacy role of the nurse.
5. Synthesize knowledge of laws, ethics, and patient rights.
6. Analyse ethical dilemmas in healthcare and propose solutions.
Psychomotor:
1. Formulate nursing care plans in accordance to code of nursing ethics.
2. Design a clinically ethical decision-making framework.
3. Formulate strategies to address legal conflicts.
Attitudes:
1. Critique the role of communication in the informed consent process.
2. Advocate the patient needs/problems within the Egyptian health care
system.
3. Appreciate the importance of following the legal and ethical practice in
nursing profession.
