  • Academic and Educational Objectives of the Patient Safety and Risk Management Training Program
  • The "Patient Safety and Risk Management in Healthcare" Diploma aims to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance the quality of healthcare and create a safe environment for patients. This is achieved by achieving the following objectives:
  • First: Academic Objectives
  • • Develop a theoretical and applied understanding of patient safety concepts, including their history and development, principles of safety culture, and human factors influencing clinical practice.
  • • Familiarize themselves with the foundations and systems of clinical risk management, applying analytical tools such as root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA).
  • • Enhance research skills and practical application of continuous improvement concepts through the preparation and implementation of quality improvement projects or clinical research related to the program content.
  • • Learn about the latest technological innovations used to support patient safety, including electronic incident reporting systems and the use of artificial intelligence to support clinical decisions.
  • Second: Educational Objectives
  • • Qualify trainees to assume an effective leadership role in the field of patient safety through training in health leadership skills, leadership journeys, and change management within health systems.
  • • Enhance teamwork and effective communication skills with healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers, supporting improved patient experience and providing care centered on patient needs.
  • • Enable participants to understand and apply national and international institutional accreditation standards, particularly those of the Egyptian Health Council and the General Authority for Accreditation and Healthcare Regulation (GAHAR).

• Gain practical experience through workshops and field visits to healthcare institutions undergoing quality improvement and accreditation programs, with the aim of linking theoretical knowledge with actual practice.
