Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, participated in the activities of the Ninth Egyptian International Stroke Conference, which was launched this year as the first national conference of the 'National Stroke Network', under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Population, and with an inspiring slogan that embodies the country's vision:

'Building Egypt's National Stroke Network: From Vision to Reality'

The conference comes in cooperation with the Stroke Division of the Egyptian Society of Neuropsychiatry and Neurosurgery, as part of the state’s tireless efforts to create an integrated and comprehensive system for dealing with stroke, aiming to improve the availability of health services, raise the efficiency of medical personnel, and enhance the speed of response to emergency cases to save patients’ lives.

During his speech at the opening session, prof. Mohamed Lotayef, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of those in charge of the conference, thanking the scholars and experts in attendance. Announcing that the Egyptian Health Council is about to announce the launch of the first “Egyptian Board” for Interventional Neurological Diseases.

This is in the specializations of: (neurology, interventional radiology, and neurosurgery), ensuring the refinement of the skills of Egyptian cadres in accordance with the latest international standards in this precise specialty.

The President of the Egyptian Health Council concluded his speech by emphasizing that the Council is working with full energy to develop training programs and professional certificates, in line with the development of the health system, and to ensure the provision of a medical service worthy of the Egyptian citizen, stressing that the “National Stroke Network” represents the cornerstone in reducing the rates of disability and deaths resulting from this disease.

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
