05 November 2023 Meeting of the Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council with representatives of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh
Professor Mohamed Mostafa Lotayef Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, met with a delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
The meeting was attended by:
• Prof. Adel Al-Adawi, member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Health Council and former Minister of Health
President of the Egyptian Medical Association and Secretary of the Medical Studies Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.
• Prof. Tariq Salah, Professor of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, Chairman of the Dentistry Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.
• Prof. Hossam Hosni, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Health Specialties.
• Prof. Timothy Graham, Vice President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
• Prof. Grant McIntyre, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
• Dr. Ian Foster-Smith, Director of Education and Examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
During the meeting, ways of joint cooperation between the Egyptian Health Council and the Royal College of Edinburgh were discussed in joint recognition of some Egyptian Board certificates granted by the Egyptian Health Council and the Fellowship of the Royal College, and the introduction of new specializations in the Egyptian Board of Dentistry and the establishment of question banks for the national examination for practicing the profession in human medicine and dentistry were discussed. And training medical personnel in Edinburgh for some medical and dental specialties. It was agreed to work on preparing a joint memorandum of understanding to be approved in February 2024 during the next visit of the Royal College delegation to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
