13 November 2025 Ceremony honoring the top graduates of the Class of 2024 who obtained the Egyptian Board certificate

Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to His Excellency the President for Health and Prevention Affairs, prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Health Council and a group of former ministers and leaders witnessed the ceremony honoring the first graduates of the Class of 2024 who obtained the Egyptian Board certificate, on the sidelines of the third edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’25), in the presence of the heads of scientific councils and the first graduates.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population expressed his happiness at crowning the efforts of the graduates, stressing that the system’s successes reflect the country’s commitment to developing the human element as a basic pillar of the sustainable health system. He also explained that the board certificate has become a symbol of professional and academic excellence, recognized Arab and internationally, and called for increasing the number of trainees in urgent specialties such as critical care, anesthesia, emergency, and spine surgeries, to meet the needs and achieve a balanced geographical distribution. His Excellency stressed the importance of lifelong continuing medical education, while spreading a culture of quality and safety, noting that the Egyptian Health Council was established to unify professional certificates in health specialties and develop training. He concluded by affirming the state's continued support to enhance the capabilities of doctors, so that the Egyptian doctor remains a model of excellence internally and externally.

Prof. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, stressed the importance of continuing education and following up on developments, praising the efforts of Egyptian doctors in the October War and the Corona pandemic, and that the board balances academic qualification with practical training for advanced opportunities for excellence.

prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council,stated the continuous work to develop programs and create new specializations for thousands of trainees in accredited centers, with unified curricula and updated exams, which reflects local and regional confidence.

Dr. Madiha Khattab, Chair of the Supreme Committee for Human Medicine, praised the graduates’ excellence, explaining that the system is a pioneering model that unifies training and examinations across an Egyptian frame of reference, while updating the curricula to international standards and adding precise specializations such as pediatric critical care, sports medicine, cerebral catheterization, and spine surgeries, in addition to new accreditation standards for trainers and centers that include a personal interview.

Representatives of Egyptian and expatriate doctors expressed their pride in the system that developed their practical and scientific skills, thanking the support, and stressing that it has made Egypt a regional center for professional training.

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
