28 April 2026 The Egyptian Health Council reviews its achievements

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, reviewed the activities and tasks that were implemented in accordance with the law establishing the Council, and the follow-up of professional and institutional development files that aim to raise the efficiency of the health system in Egypt.

In implementation of Article No. (7) of the Law Establishing the Council, the Board of Trustees agreed in principle to issue the personnel affairs regulations, in addition to the financial and administrative regulations. These regulations aim to establish organizational rules that guarantee efficient administrative performance and achieve functional stability within the Council, in line with the nature of its national tasks.

In the context of construction follow-up, the Board of Trustees was briefed on the latest developments in the executive position of the permanent headquarters of the Council, in addition to the progress of work in the temporary headquarters, with an emphasis on providing all modern logistical and technical capabilities that guarantee the sustainability of the work.

At the level of external cooperation, the Council reviewed the international agreements approved by the Board of Directors to be concluded with the Council’s counterparts from prestigious foreign entities. These partnerships aim to:

1.Exchanging experiences in the field of medical accreditation and training.

2. Mutual recognition of professional certificates.

3. Keeping pace with the latest international systems in health management and continuing medical education.

The meeting concluded by emphasizing that the Egyptian Health Council is moving forward in implementing the state’s vision to develop the human element in the medical sector, as it is the basic foundation for providing a health service worthy of the Egyptian citizen.

During the meeting, the ministers also stressed the importance of the role played by the Egyptian Health Council in improving the health system and ensuring the quality of medical services provided to citizens, in line with the state’s vision towards developing the health sector and achieving sustainable development.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
