08 January 2025 Meeting of the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for Chest Diseases Specialization

Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, met with the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for the Specialty of Chest Diseases to discuss the work plan and draw a road map for developing guidelines for the specialty of General Surgery. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din was chosen as Chairman of the Committee. 
The committee is composed of: 

  • Prof. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din - Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention and former Minister of Health and Population.
  • Prof. Ashraf Hatem - Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives and former Minister of Health and Population.
  • Prof. Hossam Hosni Mahmoud Al-Sayed Masoud - Professor of Chest Diseases, Cairo University.
  • Prof. Maha Kamel Ghanem Omar - Professor of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, former Vice President of Assiut University. 
  • Prof. Wagdy Abdel Moneim Amin Hussein - Director General of the General Administration of Chest Diseases, Ministry of Health and Population.
  • Prof. Ayman Abdel Hamid Abdel Azim Farghaly - Al-Sadr Advisor at the Military Medical Academy. 
  • Prof.Yousry Mohamed Kamel Mohamed Murshid Akl - Professor and Head of the Department of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. 
  • ProfMohamed Sayed Abdel Rahman Mohamed Fawzi Hantira - Professor of Medicine at Tanta and Vice Dean of the College for Postgraduate Studies. 
  • Prof. Amani Atf Al-Karim Abu Zaid Muhammadin - Professor of Chest, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. 
  • Prof.  Reem Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qurashi - Professor of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.

The Egyptian Health Council signed a memorandum of understanding with the Vaccine and Biotechnology City to support the Egyptian Board's programs in the fields of veterinary medicine and pharmacy.

In a strategic step to enhance the efficiency of the health system and develop the skills of doctors, the General Syndicate of Egyptian Physicians announced the opening of the Continuing Medical Education Center (SCOPE) in its new and advanced headquarters, after obtaining official accreditation from the Egyptian Health Council.
