06 June 2024 Meeting of the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for the Infection Control Specialization

Prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, met with the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for the Infection Control Specialization to discuss the work plan and draw a road map for developing guidelines for infection control. Prof. Dr. Ghada Abdel Wahed Ismail was chosen as Chairman of the Committee.
The committee is composed of:
•    Prof. Ghada Abdel Wahed Ismail Abdel Wahed, Professor of Clinical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Rapporteur of the Supreme Committee for Infection Control - Supreme Council of University Hospitals. 
•    Prof. Amal Mohamed Sayed Hassan, Professor of Clinical and Chemical Pathology, Kasr Al-Aini Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Deputy Executive Director for Environmental Affairs and Services. 
•    Prof. Amani Ali Ahmed Al-Kholy, Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.
•    Prof. Maha Abdel Aziz Ahmed El Touny, Professor of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Infection Control Consultant, Medical Services Sector, Ministry of Interior. 
•    Prof. Walaa Abdel Latif Ibrahim Al-Sadiq, Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Department of Bacteria, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
•    Prof. Nisreen Fathi Ahmed Helmy Hanafy, Professor, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, General Supervisor of Infection Control, Alexandria University Hospitals. 
•    Prof. Hebat Allah Muhammad Gamal El-Din Abdel-Rahman Rashid, Professor of Clinical Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University.
•    Dr. Nagwa Abdel Ghani Ahmed Khamis, full-time clinical pathology consultant, Specialized Hospital, Ain Shams University. 
•    Dr.  Iman Muhammad Abdullah Afifi, infection control consultant at Ain Shams University Hospitals. 
•    Dr. Sally Muhammad Mohieddin Sadiq Ismail, a human physician at Boulak Dakrour General Hospital.
•    Dr. Reham Lotfy Abdel Aziz Sayed Ahmed, General Coordinator of Environmental Health, and Coordinator of One Health at the Ministry of Environment. 
•    Dr. Asmaa Mohamed Abdel Fattah Mohamed, a nursing specialist at Nasser Institute Hospital for Research and Treatment.

The Egyptian Health Council signed a memorandum of understanding with the Vaccine and Biotechnology City to support the Egyptian Board's programs in the fields of veterinary medicine and pharmacy.

In a strategic step to enhance the efficiency of the health system and develop the skills of doctors, the General Syndicate of Egyptian Physicians announced the opening of the Continuing Medical Education Center (SCOPE) in its new and advanced headquarters, after obtaining official accreditation from the Egyptian Health Council.
