26 February 2024 Meeting to prepare national records of diseases and epidemics

A meeting between Professor Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Professor  Mohamed Lotayef Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, in the presence of Dr. Amr Kandil, Assistant Minister for Preventive Medicine Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Alim, Assistant Minister for Information Systems and Digital Transformation, Dr. Mohamed Dahi, Chairman of the Insurance Authority, Dr. Mohamed Zidan, Director General of Specialized Medical Councils, Dr. Wagdy Amin, Director of the General Administration of Chest Diseases, and Major General Engineer Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning for Digital Transformation.
This is to prepare national records for diseases and epidemics, to work on preparing health statistics and maps for diseases, and ways of coordination were discussed between the Egyptian Health Council and the various sectors concerned with this, such as the Ministry’s preventive medicine sector, the Health Insurance Authority, specialized medical councils, the Ministry of Health Information Center, and the Ministry of Planning, in order to achieve integration and link the health system to each other. This integration will contribute to knowing the extent of diseases, their spread, and causes of death, in addition to knowing the medical specialties and training required for medical teams through accurate data and statistics that will be obtained from various parties.

In a strategic step to enhance the efficiency of the health system and develop the skills of doctors, the General Syndicate of Egyptian Physicians announced the opening of the Continuing Medical Education Center (SCOPE) in its new and advanced headquarters, after obtaining official accreditation from the Egyptian Health Council.
