06 December 2023 Egyptian Health Council Board of Directors meeting 06/12/2023

The members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Health Council met under the chairmanship of Professor Mohamed Mostafa Lotayef Executive president of the Council, and the following topics were discussed:
• Presentation of Prime Minister’s Decision No. (4572) of 2023 to include the following gentlemen as members of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council as experts in the field of medical training and technical rehabilitation: Professor Magdy Habib Yacoub - International Heart Surgeon.
Professor Hisham Ali Sadiq Abdel Hamid - Professor of Cardiology, Biophysics and Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Professor Mohamed Hani Mohamed Bahja Otaiba - Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Golden Jubilee National Hospital and President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow, Scotland.
• Prime Minister’s Decision No. (4501) of 2023 appointing Prof Hossam Hosny as Secretary-General of the Egyptian Health Council was presented, and all members of the Board of Directors congratulated him on joining the Council.
• Presentation of a proposal to form the Supreme Committee for Continuing Professional Development of Human Medicine.
• Presentation of a proposal to form a committee for guidelines for human medicine, specializing in (radiology).
• Presenting the proposed dates for starting to hold exams for practicing health professions for specializations (human medicine - dentistry - physical therapy - nursing - veterinary medicine - pharmacy).
• Presenting the work done by the working group formed by the council, headed by Prof. Mahmoud Siddiq, to study the proposal to amend the law on practicing the profession of physical therapy and the law of the General Syndicate of Physical Therapy.
• Presenting the work done by the committee formed by the Council, headed by Prof. Adel Adawi, to study the proposed draft international agreements with some royal colleges and the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom.

Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Egyptian Health Council and Biotechnology Vaccine City
within the framework of the state's keenness to develop the health system and enhance the capabilities of medical cadres. The Egyptian Health Council signed a memorandum of understanding with the Vaccine and Biotechnology City to support the Egyptian Board's programs in the fields of veterinary medicine and pharmacy.

The Medical Syndicate inaugurates the "SCOPE" Center for Continuing Medical Education after its official accreditation by the Health Council
In a strategic step to enhance the efficiency of the health system and develop the skills of doctors, the General Syndicate of Egyptian Physicians announced the opening of the Continuing Medical Education Center (SCOPE) in its new and advanced headquarters, after obtaining official accreditation from the Egyptian Health Council.
